ATEC allocates Commonwealth-supported places to universities and higher education providers through the managed growth system to ensure fair distribution and meet Australia's skills needs.

Managed Growth Funding 

The Managed Growth Funding System is expected to deliver an additional 82,000 fully funded Commonwealth supported places (CSPs), compared to the current system, in 2035. 

Pending the passage of legislation, the Managed Growth Funding System will provide universities with greater certainty about the number of CSPs they are fully funded for. The Government will set a whole-of-system pool of CSPs (the Total Allocation Pool), with the ATEC having the responsibility of allocating these places to higher education providers as a Domestic Student Profile. The Managed Growth Funding System will also allow universities to better meet student demand from students from underrepresented backgrounds by allowing for effectively demand-driven CSPs for these students at the system level.
