Following the release of its interim SSP in May 2026, ATEC is now developing its first SSP under legislation which will be a key stewardship document. It will provide overarching strategic direction for the work of ATEC and the sector in the 2027 and 2028 calendar years.
The SPP is intended to provide guidance to stakeholders and the public about current challenges and opportunities in tertiary education, and it is required to be considered by relevant providers when developing their mission based compacts with ATEC.
The purpose of consultation is to ensure the SSP is informed by sectoral, student, and community knowledge. To support consultation, ATEC developed a consultation paper with a number of discussion questions regarding the draft outcomes and priorities of the SSP.
ATEC will host a webinar providing an overview of the SSP. The webinar will feature insights from the ATEC Commissioners and the CEO, with time allocated for Q&A. Details of the webinar, including a registration link, will be made available shortly.
You can have your say on the SSP by sending submissions to SSP@atec.gov.au by 11:59PM (AEDT), 30 October 2026.
