ATEC shapes where Australian tertiary education needs to go, and how to get there, through a two-yearly Statement of Strategic Priorities (SSP). The SSP sets out the ATEC’s view of the short and medium-term direction for Australia’s tertiary education.

The ATEC’s two-yearly Statement of Strategic Priorities is expected to be published by 1 January 2027. The consultation process will commence in the second half of 2026.

Workplan

ATEC’s biennial workplan sets out what we are delivering, when, and why. It is our public commitment to the sector about where our efforts and focus will be in the short term. The workplan is reviewed regularly to ensure it aligns with emerging priorities and so the ATEC can respond when challenges and opportunities arise. 

Our workplan for 2027-28 will be published later in 2026.
