Our advice spans the breadth of tertiary education, from how well the system is responding to the challenges of a changing economy, opportunities to improve equity access and participation, and ways to improve the collaboration and co-ordination between the higher education and VET sectors.
We also advise on the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards), consulting with provider representatives and students before making recommendations to the Minister.
Our advice draws on evidence, data, and direct engagement with the tertiary education sector and its stakeholders. Our work is strengthened by the perspectives of those who work within and rely on the tertiary education system. We consult and collaborate with universities, educators, students, researchers, employers, First Nations communities, and government at all levels to produce good advice backed by evidence.
ATEC provides independent advice and recommendations to Government on matters including the performance, strategic direction, and future demands and needs of the higher education system.
