We’re pleased to announce that Mr David Turvey PSM has joined the interim ATEC as Executive Director.
With a public service career spanning more than 30 years, David brings deep expertise in policy and leadership. His contributions have been instrumental in the establishment of the National Skills Commission, and later the formation of Jobs and Skills Australia.
Over his career, David has held senior executive roles at several Australian Government agencies, including the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, and the Australian Treasury. He has also worked internationally as an economist with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Much of his work has focused on labour market policy, vocational education and training policy, fiscal policy, and public debt management.
David holds a Master of Economics from the Australian National University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has served on audit committees across several Australian Government entities and as Treasurer of a number of not-for-profit community organisations in the ACT.
We would also like to wish Ms Danielle Donegan all the best in her new role as First Assistant Secretary of the Improving Student Outcomes Division at the Department of Education.
Dan played a significant role in supporting the Accord Panel in developing the Australian Universities Accord Report. She led the department’s work supporting the Government’s initial response to the Accord, and for her work over the past six months in establishing the interim ATEC.
